Designed by Drigo, the mural depicts symbols and imagery often found in Drigo’s work about growth. The mural includes some symbols honoring the collaboration with students from the West Dallas Visual Arts school, like the eagle headdresses representing the school’s flying mascot.
Eric Rodriguez, also known as “Drigo”, is a painter based in Dallas, Texas. His work ranges from fine painting to murals. His work has been exhibited in galleries such as Fort Works Art (Fort Worth), Beaudry Gallery (Dallas) and the Latino Cultural Center (Dallas). His extensive partnerships include brands such as Zumiez, Essentia Water and Samsung. His current project with the Galleria in Dallas, TX will debut his first large scale sculptures.
The Sidney Lanier Expressive Arts Vanguard and Academy is K - 8 public school in the Dallas Independent School District. Students from the middle school visual arts classes collaborated with Drigo on executing the 2019 mural a few blocks away from their school campus in West Dallas.
