“Quanah Parker”
Nicky Davis (Houston, TX)
@nickydavis
The “Quanah Parker” mural is a collage of all things Texas—from the largest number of bats in any state, to the flora and fauna of bluebonnets and coyotes. This Texan imagery all centers around the figure of Quanah Parker, who was the last chief of the Comanche, as his mother was from around the West Dallas area.
Nicky Davis is a visual artist living and working in Houston, Texas. Davis’ work may at first appear quite whimsical, but his subject matter is often how nature and humans interact and their influence on one another. His work has been included in gallery exhibitions globally and his murals have been featured by brands such as NASA, Red Bull, The Houston Zoo, Seagram’s Gin, Art Basel, and Pow Wow Worldwide. He received his Bachelors of Fine Arts from the University of Houston.
